On 14th July, a handover ceremony took place at Kilu’ufi Hospital in Auki, Malaita Province for “The Project for the Improvement of Kilu’ufi Hospital”
The ceremony was attended by representatives from Solomon Islands, including Prime Minister, Hon. Matthew Cooper Wale, Minister of Health and Medical Services, Hon. Morris Toiraena, and officials from Malaita Province, as well as representatives from Japan, including Ambassador HIGUCHI, Mr Kawasaki, Resident Representative of the JICA Solomon Islands, and Mr Kitano, President of Kitano Construction Co., Ltd., among others.

A new advanced testing machine for better infrastructure
Solomon Islands has reached a major milestone with the commissioning of its first Universal Testing Machine (UTM), boosting the country's ability to independently test and verify the quality and safety of construction materials.
The new equipment will help the Ministry of Infrastructure Development test the quality and strength of construction materials used in roads, bridges, buildings and other public infrastructure. The UTM will help deliver safer, stronger and longer-lasting infrastructure across Solomon Islands.
MID technicians have also received training to operate and maintain the machine, building local expertise.
Implemented by the Solomon Islands Government, the CAUSE II Project is supported by the World Bank and the Australian Government through the PNG and Pacific Islands Umbrella Facility Multi-Donor Trust Fund.

1⃣ Provide developing countries with 5,000 opportunities in AI training and seminar programs;
2⃣ Develop international AI application cooperation centers with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, the League of Arab States, the African Union, the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and BRICS;
3⃣ Enable 30 countries to use the Al-powered meteorological warning system, or MAZU.
